Senior Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead

Location: Greenville, SC

Schedule: Hybrid - 3 Days in Office/ 2 Days out of Office

Compensation: $65/hr - $70/hr

Are you the kind of Scrum Master who does more than run meetings?

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Lead to coach and support two software development squads. This is a hands-on Agile leadership role for someone who enjoys helping teams deliver better, work smarter, remove roadblocks, and continuously improve how software gets built and delivered.

You’ll work closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, technical leaders, and business stakeholders to improve delivery flow, quality, predictability, and customer value.

If you enjoy coaching teams, digging into delivery metrics, challenging outdated processes, and helping teams become more independent and accountable, this could be a great fit.

What You’ll Be Doing

Coach Two Agile Software Teams

You’ll serve as the Agile coach and delivery partner for two software development squads.

Responsibilities include:

• Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum, and practical software delivery practices
• Help teams become more self-organizing, accountable, and effective
• Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and backlog refinement
• Identify and remove roadblocks affecting delivery
• Help teams manage dependencies across other teams and stakeholders
• Encourage open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Keep Agile practices focused on delivering value rather than simply completing ceremonies

Partner with Product Owners

You’ll work closely with Product Owners to improve how work moves from an idea to delivered software.

This includes:

• Backlog management and prioritization
• User Story development and refinement
• Acceptance criteria
• Estimation and planning
• Applying principles such as INVEST
• Identifying MVPs and opportunities for incremental delivery
• Improving collaboration between Product Owners, engineers, customers, and stakeholders

Improve Software Delivery

Data should help teams improve, not simply create another report.

You’ll help teams use Agile and software delivery metrics to understand where delivery is working and where improvements can be made.

Metrics may include:

• Lead time
• Cycle time
• Deployment frequency
• Mean time to recovery
• Change success/failure rate
• Throughput
• Sprint predictability
• DORA metrics

You’ll use this information to help identify bottlenecks, dependencies, risks, and opportunities to improve delivery speed, quality, and predictability.

Support Modern Software Development

You don't need to be the person writing the code, but you should understand how modern software teams operate.

You’ll work in an environment that includes concepts and technologies such as:

• DevOps
• CI/CD
• Cloud technologies
• AWS
• Automated testing
• Modern SDLC practices
• AI-assisted software development
• Generative AI tools

You’ll help teams identify practical ways these tools and practices can improve planning, development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and software delivery.

What We’re Looking For

The strongest candidates will have:

• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Senior Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead, Agile Coach, or similar role
• Experience supporting multiple software development squads
• Strong understanding of Agile principles and Scrum
• Proven experience coaching software development teams
• Experience partnering with and coaching Product Owners
• Strong backlog management and refinement experience
• Experience with User Stories, acceptance criteria, estimation, prioritization, and incremental delivery
• Experience identifying and removing delivery impediments
• Experience managing cross-team dependencies
• Experience using DORA metrics, Agile metrics, or software delivery metrics to drive improvements
• Strong Jira and Confluence experience or similar Agile delivery tools
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to work comfortably with both technical and business teams

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions, facilitating difficult conversations, and helping teams find better ways to deliver.

Nice to Have

Experience in any of the following would be a plus:

• DevOps environments
• CI/CD
• AWS or other cloud platforms
• Agile transformation initiatives
• AI or Generative AI tools used within software development
• Large or complex enterprise organizations
• Organizational change or continuous improvement initiatives
• CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or similar Agile certification

• Use delivery data to make better decisions
• Maintain a sustainable development pace
• Collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, and the business
• Become less dependent on the Scrum Master to solve routine delivery challenges
