Power BI Data Analyst

Location: Greenville, SC
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite

Pay: $64.79/hr – $69.72/hr 

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Data Analyst to support a major enterprise reporting and data modernization initiative in Greenville, SC.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the details of data, understanding how existing reports work, troubleshooting discrepancies, and making sure business-critical reporting remains accurate during a transition to a new enterprise data source. You will work with existing Power BI, Microsoft Access, Excel, and SQL-based reporting, understand the business logic behind those reports, map that logic to new data sources, and update priority reports without disrupting the information business users rely on. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex reporting problems and working directly with both business users and technical teams.

What You'll Do

• Review existing Power BI, Microsoft Access, Excel, and related reports to understand data sources, calculations, refresh methods, and dependencies.
• Map existing report fields and business logic to new enterprise data sources.
• Identify missing, changed, or unavailable data and determine how it impacts existing reporting.
• Update and reconnect priority reports while maintaining required business definitions and functionality.
• Develop and modify Power Query transformations, DAX measures, data models, SQL queries, and Microsoft Access logic.
• Compare updated reports against existing outputs and source records to ensure data accuracy.
• Investigate reporting and data discrepancies and determine root causes.
• Troubleshoot data connections, refreshes, gateways, performance, access, and other reporting issues.
• Work directly with business users, Digital, IT, and data-platform teams.
• Document data connections, report dependencies, changes, limitations, and known gaps.
• Provide knowledge transfer and documentation so solutions can be supported long term.

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong experience with Power Query and DAX.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting Power BI data models.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience connecting reporting solutions to multiple enterprise data sources.
• Experience validating data and reconciling conflicting results.
• Ability to trace report calculations and business logic back to source systems.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, including queries and legacy reporting logic.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and translate business reporting requirements into maintainable technical solutions.

Why This Role?

You'll be working on reporting that directly supports business and plant operations. This isn't simply a dashboard-building position. You'll have the opportunity to understand how critical reporting works from end to end, help modernize the underlying data environment, solve challenging data problems, and ensure users can continue trusting the information they use to make decisions.

The position is a long-term full-time contract with no defined end date and is intended to be onsite in Greenville approximately three days per week.
