Salary Starting at $80,000 BOE

 

SUMMARY:

The incumbent is responsible for overall plant operation. Together with each Department Manager, Supervisor and plant resources, the incumbent shall insure that sales commitments are fulfilled with the highest quality in an efficient, safe and profitable manner, by developing, implementing and executing standard processes.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         It is the incumbent’s responsibility to organize, allocate direct and motivate the resources of the plant to provide support consistent with company objectives. It will be necessary that the incumbent closely coordinate with all the functional managers and supervisors to ensure successful fulfillment of OTD sale commitments.

·         Performance appraisals, salaries, hiring, terminations and employee counseling, for direct reporting personnel, shall also be the responsibility of the incumbent.

·         Complete budgetary needs shall be identified for the entire plant by the incumbent and shall be submitted to Corporate for approval.

·         Organize, allocate the resources of and give technical direction to the plant functional managers to provide support for standard production fulfillment and shipping / receiving processes.

·         Review and approve reports on a daily basis.

·         Review and disposition all non-conforming product in coordination with the Quality Manager.

·         Review and approve supply and purchase requisitions as required.

·         Coordinate and direct OTD resources to resolve “in house” and customer related problems. Insure root cause is determined and positive corrective action is taken.

·         Direct the preparation of accurate and consistent cost proposal data.

·         Direct and coordinate the performance of plant physical inventories and assets.

·         Define budgetary needs, both capital and personnel, required to support the company objectives.

·         Select, appraise, train, develop and motivate subordinate personnel toward greater individual competence and to achieve optimal plant effectiveness.

·         Assure optimal product effectiveness by identifying, evaluating and proposing areas for improvements.

·         Insure that company safety objectives are met.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

·         A minimum of a Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree and a minimum of 7 years related experience in a high-volume manufacturing / distribution environment. Alternately, a Master of Science or Business Administration Degree reduces the experience required to 5 years.

·         The incumbent must have the interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels within OTD and at the customer / supplier level. The incumbent must be a self-starter, willing to make sound decisions and initiate action without prior counseling or direction. The incumbent must possess technical knowledge and personal integrity to earn the respect of subordinates.

·         Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

·         Able to work overtime as needed.

·         Able to perform all duties and responsibilities listed safely and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment.

·         Able to report every workday, on time and for the entire shift.

·         Must have positive attitude and strong work ethics.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. The warehouse area is not climate controlled and can get hot during summer and cold during winter months. Work may involve some lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, back support belt and gloves. Must be able to hear, speak, reach, bend, twist, squat, push and pull. Must be able to perform tasks in a standing position for extended periods of time.
