Salary Starts @ $40,000 BOE

 

SUMMARY:

The Logistics Supervisor oversees the transportation and warehousing of goods and materials. Responsible for making sure supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the delivery and warehouses system efficiently and safely. Work with outside customers or vendors to develop a schedule for the delivery of products or resources. Manages the logistics team and ensures delivery times are met.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of all logistics employees and meeting all delivery time and quality expectations. 
  • Identification of inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and downtime issues, ultimately leading to improvement proposals and implementation of solutions.

 

·         Responsible for staffing the logistics team to include: work assignments, vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, changeovers, cross training, etc.

·         Responsible for coordinating all of the inbound and outbound freight and small parcel shipments.

·         Oversees the replenishment and movement of goods and materials within the warehouse, and to and from Production.

·         Coordinates the movement of goods and materials stored in external containers.

·         Accurately receives in orders and processes documentation for outgoing orders through the ERP system in a timely manner.

·         Receives and processes small packages delivered through carriers and sends them to the appropriate department.

·         Assist with processing returns and ensure it is completed in a timely manner.

·         Performs cycle counts and researches inventory discrepancies as needed.

·         Ensure work area is clean and safe.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

·         Self-starter able to function effectively in a fast-paced growing company and adapt to change.

·         A strong sense of urgency and impeccable follow through.

·         Ability to work independently or in group settings.

·         Knowledge of the shipping processes and procedures. This is normally acquired through two to five years of shipping experience.

·         Excellent attention to detail.

·         Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

·         Flexible and able to multi-task.

·         Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

·         Strong computer skills with an emphasis in typing, Microsoft Word and Excel.

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors and customers.

·         Able to perform all duties and responsibilities listed safely and wear required Personal Protective Equipment as required.

·         Able to work overtime as needed.

·         Able to report to work on time each workday.

·         Must have positive attitude and strong work ethics.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. The warehouse area is not climate controlled and can get hot during summer and cold during winter months. Must be able to hear, speak, reach, bend, twist, squat, push and pull. Must be able to perform tasks in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
