Engineering Administrative Support Specialist

 

 

Part-Time | Onsite | Approximately 20 Hours per Week

Compensation: $28 - $32 per hour

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Administrative Support Specialist to provide administrative and project support to a large engineering organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, keeping processes organized, tracking important information, and communicating with technical professionals.

You do not need to be an engineer or have an engineering degree. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, communicates professionally, and is willing to learn new systems and processes.

This is a part-time, onsite contract position averaging approximately 20 hours per week.

 

What You'll Do

  • Maintain basic Excel spreadsheets and ensure information remains accurate and up to date
  • Track Purchase Orders through the approval and processing cycle
  • Follow up on outstanding PO activities and communicate with engineers when action is required
  • Assist with engineering timesheet administration, including adding new projects and helping address error reports
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Communicate with engineers and other team members regarding administrative needs and outstanding items
  • Follow established procedures, work instructions, and documented processes
  • Learn and utilize internal business systems used by the engineering organization
  • Provide additional administrative and coordination support as needed

 

What We're Looking For

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and other professionals
  • Comfortable managing multiple administrative tasks and priorities
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software applications
  • Dependable and comfortable working independently

Experience with purchasing, Purchase Orders, engineering administration, project coordination, timesheets, or ERP systems is helpful but not required.

Previous experience with all of these systems is not required. A willingness to learn new technology is important.

 

Schedule

This position requires working onsite 4–5 days per week.

  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Approximately 4 hours per day
  • Consistent daily schedule preferred
  • Start time generally between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
  • Initial contract duration of approximately 6 months
  • Potential for extension based on business needs
